Apr 16th, 2010
LEXINGTON,
KENTUCKY – Continuing his successful fundraising efforts in the two
previous quarters, Andy Barr announced today that his campaign raised
$411,659.75 through the end of March. This includes the first quarter fundraising total of $106,312.50 which includes $103,662.50 from individual donors. Of the individual donors, 91% are from Kentucky. Andy Barr’s fundraising for the quarter more than doubled the combined total of donations raised by his primary competitors. Of the Republicans in the primary, none reported contributions from supporters greater than $47,000 for the quarter. Additionally,
the Democratic incumbent raised $69,950 of itemized individual
contributors for the quarter, of which only $38,850 were from Kentucky
donors. “While
there are many other important elements of a campaign, a political
donation is a strong demonstration of support for a candidate,” said
Andy Barr. “In this one measure of support for my
campaign, it is certainly encouraging to have demonstrated greater
strength than my competitors in the primary and my opponent in the
general election.”
