In just two weeks since announcing his Exploratory Committee for U.S. Congress for Kentucky’s Sixth Congressional District, Andy Barr raised $185,199.50 in his first fundraising quarter, which closed on September 30th.
“I am humbled by the outpouring of early support for our exploratory effort,” Andy Barr said. “Our message of limited government, individual freedom and fiscal responsibility has resonated with the people of Central Kentucky. As our early success demonstrates, the citizens of the Sixth Congressional District are looking for a new kind of leadership in Washington—leadership that will bring common sense and balance back to the national political discussion.”
Andy raised over $185,000 in the two weeks since announcing his Exploratory Committee from more than 300 contributors. Over $45,000, almost 25% of all money raised, was contributed online.
“Andy’s success in the short timeframe since his announcement shows the momentum and enthusiasm which is building for his candidacy,” stated Committee Chairman Louis Hillenmeyer. “There has been a deluge of support and, quite frankly, we’re just getting started.”
Ralph Hacker, former voice of the Kentucky Wildcats and another member of the Exploratory Committee, went on to say, “Andy Barr is the leader we need representing us in Congress. His values and commitment to a fiscally responsible government are lacking in our current representation. Andy will not be a rubber stamp for the President.”
Retired Admiral Van Alford added, “I think this is a phenomenal showing by an individual who is still relatively unknown in the region. Just think what he will be able to accomplish as more and more people get to know him!”
“Since announcing our Exploratory Committee, we have received an overwhelming level of support from all over Central Kentucky,” continued Barr. “I am delighted by the increasing depth and caliber of individuals who have agreed to serve on our Committee and advise us in our efforts.”
