Barr Campaign Questions Chandler's Tax Hike Flip-Flop

Says Chandler’s New Position ‘Politically Convenient’
LEXINGTON, KY - Today Ben Chandler sided with Andy Barr and a growing number of candidates and members of Congress to call for a freeze of current tax policy by extending the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts. For Chandler, this is a welcome change from his position in 2009, when he voted to support the tax increase proposed by President Obama (Roll Call #216, April 29, 2009).
“Since Ben Chandler was elected, he has increasingly voted in line with Nancy Pelosi, voting with her 94% of the time this Congress,” said John Connell, campaign manager for Andy Barr. “In an effort to manufacture his ‘independence’, Chandler is changing positions left and right, and now opposes a tax hike he supported in 2009. Kentucky needs a representative who will stop reckless spending and tax hikes at all times, not just when it is politically convenient.”
