Andy Barr raises more than twice as much money, Chandler's support is from Washington, not Kentucky

LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY – Sixth District Congressional candidate Andy Barr outraised incumbent Democrat Congressman Ben Chandler in the latest Federal Election Commission reporting period. Barr raised over $382,000 while Chandler took in a little over $154,000. More importantly, greater than half of Congressman Chandler's support came from Washington, D.C. special interests. This marks the second consecutive quarter in which Barr has outraised the incumbent among individual Kentuckians.

Barr said he was honored to have the support of so many Kentuckians. "I am thankful for the many individuals who generously donated to my campaign to bring fiscal responsibility back to Washington. In the coming months, I will continue to work hard to gain the support of Sixth District voters."

In a May survey conducted by Barr's campaign, only 30% of the voters agreed Congressman Chandler deserved re-election. Additionally, Andy Barr was named a "Young Gun" by the National Republican Congressional Committee, indicating that the Sixth Congressional District is one of the top Republican pick up opportunities in the country.
