Citizens United Political Victory Fund Backs Andy Barr in Kentucky's 6th Congressional District

Jul 11th, 2011

Citizens United Political Victory Fund (CUPVF), the affiliated PAC of Citizens United, issued the following statement backing Andy Barr in his race for the U.S. House from Kentucky’s 6th Congressional District. CUPVF has contributed $5,000 to the Barr campaign towards its primary effort.

“Andy Barr is a rising star in Kentucky politics and I have no doubt that he will beat Democrat Ben Chandler next year,” said David N. Bossie, President of Citizens United.  Ben Chandler endorsed candidate Obama in the 2008 primary saying ‘I am convinced Barack Obama will provide the steady hand and leadership we need to chart a new path for our nation.’  As it turns out, Barack Obama has failed the American people with 9.1 percent unemployment and out of control spending that has led to a $14 trillion debt.

“In addition, Ben Chandler has backed the failed leadership of Nancy Pelosi.  Ben Chandler had the choice earlier this year to vote for a alternative in the minority leader race, instead he voted for Nancy Pelosi and her liberal San Francisco values.  Ben Chandler has lost touch with the voters of Kentucky’s 6th Congressional District. Come Election Day 2012, Ben Chandler and his friend Barack Obama will pay the price for their failed liberal policies.”
