Nonpartisan expert signals race moving steadily to Barr's favor
LEXINGTON, KY - Today, the nonpartisan Cook Political Report has moved its rating of the Sixth District Congressional race from "Lean Democrat" to "Toss Up".
“The race has tightened to the point we can no longer justify keeping this race in the Lean Democratic column,” wrote David Wasserman, the Cook Political Report’s House Editor.
Barr said this shows that Central Kentuckians see through Ben Chandler’s false and negative attacks and are ready for new leadership in Washington. "Sixth District residents are tired of Washington’s reckless spending and inability to get the job done. Ben Chandler cast the deciding vote to adjourn the House of Representatives and failed to pass a budget or put a stop to impending income tax hikes for all taxpayers. Voters know that I will stop job-killing legislation like Cap and Trade and work to create new jobs by keeping taxes low.”
Cook’s rating change follows a poll released earlier this week by the Barr campaign showing Barr with a 48%-47% lead. This is yet another acknowledgement of the increasing momentum of Andy Barr’s campaign by a respected political publication.
