LIES: Chandler Ad Wrong about Barr's Position on Social Security

Barr is firmly against privatization
LEXINGTON, KY - Democrat Ben Chandler launched a false and negative television ad today, fabricating Andy Barr’s position on Social Security reform.
“Ben Chandler is clearly worried about Kentuckians’ dissatisfaction with his record in Congress,” said John Connell, campaign manager for Andy Barr. “Since he can’t explain why he votes 94% of the time with Nancy Pelosi,1 he has resorted to fabricating positions for his opponent.”
“Andy Barr has been clear: he is for keeping Social Security safe for all Kentuckians and against the tax-and-spend policies of Washington. Ben Chandler, on the other hand, has put Washington politics first, advocating raising Social Security taxes2 in what would be the largest tax increase in US history.”
The Frankfort State Journal reported on August 17th that Andy Barr is indeed opposed to privatizing Social Security. Barr is also opposed to raising taxes on Social Security, cutting Social Security benefits and raising the retirement age.
“Ben Chandler is ducking debates and now he’s running a negative campaign, lying about Andy Barr. He will say anything to distract voters from his job-killing record in Washington,” said Connell.
