DCCC running ads in desperate effort to save Chandler

LEXINGTON, KY - A new poll conducted on October 4-5 shows Andy Barr leading Rep. Ben Chandler 48%-47% with 5% undecided. This is the first survey that shows Barr ahead. A memo from Barr's pollster, B.J. Martino is attached.

Additionally, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has reserved TV time in the Lexington media market through October 18th. Full details of the buy are not available yet, however Barr Campaign Manager John Connell said this action clearly shows Washington Democrats recognize Andy Barr is on the path to victory in November.

"Since August, Ben Chandler had tried to cover up his votes for the failed stimulus and the job-killing cap-and-trade bill by running ads that lie about Andy Barr. Now Nancy Pelosi and Washington Democrats must come in and try to bail out Chandler’s failed campaign. Sixth District voters are smarter than that, and this new survey clearly shows they want new leadership."

The poll was conducted by the Tarrance Group and all respondents interviewed in this study were part of a fully representative sample of 400 registered “likely” voters. The margin of error for the sample is +/- 4.9% in 19 of 20 cases. The surveys were conducted on October 4-5, 2010.
