Vision

I believe that the United States of America is the greatest nation in the history of the world. That belief is rooted in an understanding that the founding fathers were right: that we are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, that it is the responsibility of government to protect those rights and that the ends of liberty and human progress are best served when government is limited and its powers dispersed.

Today, our nation faces great challenges, both internal and external. Because the current administration and this Congress have moved rapidly in the direction of more government bureaucracy, wasteful new spending, ever-increasing deficits, excessive intervention in the private economy, and the promise of higher taxes, our nation faces the very real prospect of serious internal decay. Because our founding principles are fundamentally inconsistent with the ideologies of terror, our way of life faces clear and present external threats.

I support a future that is more in keeping with our founding principles—a future built upon limited government, individual freedom, fiscal responsibility, traditional American values and a strong national defense. I believe we must be vigilant and proactive in the war on terror and do all that we can in defense of our freedom. I believe in cutting government spending, balancing the federal budget and reducing the national debt. I believe in growing the economy and creating jobs by cutting taxes, living within our means and getting the government out of the way. I believe that economic activity should be organized through private enterprise operating in a free market. And I believe that the primary function of government should be the preservation of liberty.
